EDUCATION, A GIFT FROM OUR SPONSORS

An education for people with disabilities is a rare thing for Guatemalans. Now through sponsorship, children are provided with a solid education. Where the children with disabilities are accepted in regular schools, we help them with their supplies and the equipment they need to make the venture a success. In many cases though, the children must study at home or in an orphanage where they live. We are happy to say that with the help of tutors these children are also receiving a good education. 

Even the government of Guatemala has acknowledged the hard work of the children; the last few years some have been awarded with diplomas from the Department of Education. What an exciting day!

Field trips to the children's science museum and to the zoo in Guatemala City are a fun treat for the children!  

The need being so great, we have expanded our education program to include children of single mothers or widows. With the requirement of uniforms, black school shoes and supplies, many mothers making pennies by washing clothes or ironing just could not afford to send their children to school.

Bethel Ministries International’s educational sponsorship is a Christian humanitarian program dedicated to create real, lasting transformation for people and their communities. We support people with disabilities in receiving the education and skills training they need to be successful and contributing members of society by helping them recognize and express their individual abilities, interests and talents. Our goal is to show God’s love to all people as we partner with communities in meeting the critical needs caused by poverty and disability.  

Sponsor a child today, depending on need:

▪ Elementary school: Your sponsorship provides the required uniforms, shoes, school supplies and books, and various fees from the school throughout the year

▪ Public: $25 monthly. 

▪ Private: $40 monthly.

▪ Tutors: $40 monthly.

▪ High school:  Student graduates with a career; secretarial, accounting, computer science, or teaching are examples. Cost: $50 monthly.

▪ Ramps, adapted desks, diapers, and wheelchair maintenance are provided as needed. Donations are greatly appreciated.
